Internationally Recognised Photographer

Neil Hargreaves is our Principal Photographer, who personally oversees every shoot. He is honoured to be one of only a handful of photographers in New South Wales who have been accepted into the internationally-based Wedding Photojournalist Association.

Neil loves to shoot events naturally and spontaneously, often referred to as a "photojournalistic" style, capturing genuine emotions and expressions. Since migrating to Australia in 1996, UK born Neil Hargreaves has relished to the opportunity to develop and hone his photographic skills in his stunning home state of New South Wales. Predominantly self-taught, Neil is a strong believer and advocate of life long learning, and takes every opportunity to build on his natural talents to further develop his photographic skills and style. He hold qualifications in adult education and provides guidance, training and education to those seeking to develop their photographic skills through the Australian Insitute of Photography.

Neil developed his photojournalistic style, which he applies to all wedding assignments, through a range of freelance and staff media/photographic roles. His work can be seen in a range of commercial publications and websites.

Neil has been passionate about photography for as long as he can remember. His earliest photographic memories are of shooting a roll of 620 film on his father's Box Brownie in the early-70s. His in-depth knowledge of photography has developed from experience in wedding and portrait photography, commercial (in particular real estate and product photography) and also in media and photojournalism.

More than 30 years and countless tens of thousands of photographs after taking his first shots, Neil now works entirely digitally, using top of the range Canon cameras & lenses.

Whatever the occasion, we work with our clients to adapt our photographic style to suit the event and your needs. Whatever your needs, we are able to tailor our services to suit you.

 

Charitable Activities

Neil is passionate about giving back to the community and is committed to a number of volunteer activities both personally and through Hargreaves Photography.

Hargreaves Photography is very pleased to be associated with a number of charities, including MS Australia, Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep and HELP-Portrait. We support these, and other very worthy causes, by providing our event and commercial photography services to them at no cost and by donating our portraiture sessions for fundraisers.
